The Sweat Tour has been the talk of the year, especially with “Brat Summer” taking over. This tour is co-headlined by Charli XCX and Troye Sivan. This unpredictable two-hour dance-pop concert that had a stop in the Big Apple left a big statement to me.

Attending the Sweat Tour at Madison Square Garden, I had no idea what to expect. Many rumors circulated on TikTok about special guest performances. I wanted Addison Rae to come out, but I did not think that was on the radar.
I was very excited about getting to attend this concert as I had Charli XCX's album Brat on shuffle this entire year ever since it dropped. I also bumped Troye Sivan’s Music in my car with the windows down.
This concert had many surprises I was uncertain how it was going to go since Charli and Troye were co-headlining. It turned out they kept swapping. Troye started the show with three songs, and then Charli came out and did her songs. This dynamic duo kept the crowd on their feet the whole time, filled with energy. You felt the floor bouncing as everyone was jumping up and down.

Troye Sivan stole the show with his choreography. All of his dancers and Troye himself had an electric energy. They gave it their all to Madison Square Garden. It's wild to think that just in 2016, he was blowing up on YouTube. He ended up performing at a venue in New York City with a capacity of 1,500 and is now selling out Madison Square Garden. It is taking me back to 2016 when I saw him on his first tour for his album Blue Neighborhood.

If I had not attended this concert, I would have felt the FOMO for the rest of my life when Addison Rae made an appearance on stage. The crowd went wild as soon as they heard the tune of Addison Rae's new hit sing ‘Diet Pepsi’ beginning to play. Charli and Troye then greeted her to sing the song with her. This moment was unforgettable. You could see how happy Addison Rae was to perform in a sold-out Madison Square Garden.
After they sang Diet Pepsi, Charli sang Von Dutch, the remix featuring Addison Rae. If you know this song, you know Addison Rae has an iconic scream in it. The crowd was electric during this performance, especially when Addison Rae did her scream. I've never heard an arena scream like that; you could have heard those screams all around the world.
Just when we thought all of the surprises were going to be over, Charli XCX brought out Lorde to sing Girl, So Confusing featuring Lorde. What made this moment so special is because they used to have some sort of rivalry. Once they did this song they squashed their rivalry. They point this out because in the lyrics they say “let's work it out on the remix” that is exactly what they did. To the point now that she got to bring Lorde out on stage at her sold out show. Rolling Stone said "The sound barrier in Madison Square Garden nearly broke halfway through the show, when Lorde appeared from below the stage to work it out on the remix with Charli IRL. It was truly an out of body experience, I still am questioning if that was even a real experience.
Charli XCX and Troye Sivan closed out the Sweat Tour singing their song Talk Talk that was on Charli’s album but she remixed it and now Troye is featured on it. The energy the crowd gave on this last song gave me chills. Everyone really went to the sweat tour to sweat out all of their calories. When the show ended everyone was in shock. While walking out of the concert many people were saying how that was the best concert they have been to.
The party did not stop when the concert ended. Because right when you got out of Madison Square Garden there was someone with a speaker playing all the songs we just heard live. Everyone formed a dance circle and was dancing still as if the concert did not end.
I have been to a lot of concerts, and this is definitely a show that is in my top 5. The way Charli XCX and Troye Sivan put on this show was amazing. From the visuals, stage design, and the energy, they really out did themselves. As well as getting special guest just made it even memorable. I will never forget all of the ruckus that was caused when the special guest came out. The energy from the fans as well as the artist was unmatched I never experienced a crowd like that. It was like we all were just at a big party dancing together.
If you have the chance to attend the Sweat Tour I highly recommend it. Just know that if you go be ready to Sweat. You will be dancing for a full two hours non stop. So make sure you bring your dancing shoes. This stop in New York will definitely be unforgettable. That gets me thinking if they did this for the New York show what is up their sleeves for the LA dates.
